Bernese are not high energy dogs but are considered a "moderate energy level" breed. Originating in the Swiss Alps, they are less active in the warmer months and perk up in the fall and winter months. The first snow fall will often cause your Berner to "dance with joy."

Berner Info:
Bernese Mountain Dogs are considered a dry-mouth breed. They do not drool except in hot weather, and their drool is not the heavy, sticky sort, but more liquid.
Bernese & Other Pets
Berners generally get along well with other pets. Most of our dogs and puppies were raised with our cats. Of course, when bringing a puppy into a home with other animals, it is very important to plan ahead and take the time to do well-supervised "introductions".
